The Last Night

Evening People! In my last post, I showed you my Christmas nail art. Well today, I've got my New Year's manicure for you! I'm not really that big on New Year celebrations so I wanted to keep my nail art casual but still celebratory :) I decided to do confetti inspired nail art over a glitter creme base. So I started the manicure by painting all my nails in Lacquerhead Polish 'What Happened Last Night' (mainly for the name, ha!). This is a white creme with small cobalt blue and light purple hex and square glitters. There are some lilac stars mixed in too but you can't really see them as the base covers them up :( Once this was dry, I painted on a coat of Essie 'Good To Go' to smooth over some of the stars. Then, using a small dotting tool and Jessica 'Kensington Rose' (pearlescent pink), I started to add clusters of dots to each nail. I carried on adding to these clusters (using the same dotting tools) with  Barry M 'Silver...

Old But New

A Good Evening To You! A very belated post I'm afraid but I wanted to show you my Christmas Day manicure :) I've always loved the look of vintage ornaments as they remind me of my Grandma and happy Christmas holidays spent up north. So I decided to paint some pastel, super sparkly ornaments on each of my nails! First, I painted all of my nails with Rimmel 'Your Majesty' , a beautiful one-coat silver metallic nail polish. This polish surprised me with a fantastic formula and literally no chipping! Pretty great for a cheaper brand :) For the ornaments, I first painted the overall shape of each ornament with my favourite striping brush and Essie 'Blanc' , an opaque white creme. Once this was dry, I added colour and detail using the following nail polishes; Zoya 'Rory' (rose pink with fine silver shimmer), Barry M 'Mist' (pastel blue pearl matte), Revlon Parfumerie  'Beachy' (gold/brass metallic) and Rimmel 'Pear Drop...

Christmas Inspiration: Vintage Pastels

Hello Again! For this year's Christmas nail art inspiration, I decided to go a bit outside the box! I've collected lot's of Pinterest images featuring vintage ornaments, white and silver Christmas trees and snowflake cookies in pastel hues. So pretty! I'm planning some fun manicures to wear over the next couple of weeks inspired by these images! I love to use unusual colour themes for Christmas decor as it changes things up a bit without going too far away from the overall Christmas vibe. And it's fun! Thanks for reading! Kayleigh :)

Jewelled Senses

Evening People!! Although today's manicure is inspired by Autumn, I chose rich and saturated colours in order to fit in with the current Christmas holiday vibes! I also used shimmery and sparkly nail polishes so this manicure is perfect for all those festive parties :) To start, I used Revlon 'Spidey Sense' which is a shimmery/metallic red with added gold shimmer. Oh my gosh, this is amazing !! It's pretty in the bottle but on the nail... Just wow! I love it. Over the red, I painted on sparse swipes of nail polish to get a slightly degraded, visually textural effect. For this I used Essie 'The Lace Is On' (shimmery/metallic magenta) and Essie 'Leading Lady' (small pink hex glitter in a dark pink base). I then painted on leafy branches and singlular leaves using a striping brush and the following nail polishes; Barry M 'Copper' (copper/bronze shimmer), Essie 'Sable Collar' (dusky taupe) and OPI 'Wooden Shoe Like ...

All A Blur

Good Evening!! Today's post has been a bit more delayed than I would have liked as we've been having trouble with our internet. Hopefully it's been fixed completely now, fingers crossed! I decided to take a more abstract approach to my Autumn inspired nail art and ended up creating something that resembled some type of luxury tweed! Not quite what I planned but ended up loving it anyway :) I started this by painting all my nails in Butter London ‘All Hail The Queen’ , a beautiful shimmery pale taupe with delicate scattered holo. I absolutely love this nail polish, its understated but elegant and has a fabulous formula! I wanted this manicure to be all about those lovely Autumnal colours so I decided to use the dry brush technique. This involves wiping off most of the nail polish and then dragging the brush across the nail, creating a textured effect. I started with Butter London ‘East End’ (mustard yellow), Essie ‘Peach Side Babe’ (bright peach...

Inspiration: Autumn Hues

Hey There! Despite the fact Autumn has come and gone, I've been looking forward to creating some Fall inspired nail art. We've still got a few colourful leaves sticking around so I decided to just go ahead with it anyway :) Ah, I just adore these intense, jewel colours :) Nature is truly amazing sometimes! Thanks for reading! Kayleigh :)

Neon Sun

Hello Everyone!! It's been rather a long time since I last posted anything. Unfortunately life got in the way of that but I'm here now and excited to get back into my nail art routine!! Today's nail art is inspired by some absolutely amazing body art that I came across on Pinterest; These images are so beautiful and creative, I can't stop staring at them! I loved the combination of the bright and neon colours contrasting with the dark inky blues and purples.  I started this manicure by painting all of my nails in Essie ‘Blanc’ , an opaque white creme. It makes a nice, clean base for bright colours and allows the neons to pop. A few coats are needed to reach full opacity but it builds nicely so I don’t mind too much! Once this was completely dry, I started on the sunset gradient, spacing the colours across four of my nails with a single image on my thumb. I used a small detail brush to dab the colours on and blended them together using a bit of nail...
