And Make It Evergreen

Hey! Tonight, I have a new manicure inspired by Christmas wreaths :) Every year, my Mum and I go to our local wreath-making workshop and make a new wreath for the front door. I always enjoy seeing everyone's interpretation and different use of the same materials! So, I decided to use this for my nail art by painting different variations of wreaths on each nail; I started the manicure with Barry M 'Almond' on my non-accent nails and Essie 'Sable Collar' on my accent nails. I love these two colours together! I marked out where I wanted each wreath with my smallest detail brush and Barry M 'Cappuccino' . Then, using the same brush, I added in the evergreen foliage on my 'Almond' nails with Barry M 'Watermelon' . I added foliage detail (over the evergreen) with Rimmel 'Camouflage' (metallic green) and Sinful Colors 'Call You Later' (green glitter). I did the same on my accent nails using  Nubar 'Reclaim...

Crush On Plaid

Evening People!! Firstly, sorry about the week long gap; time just got away from me. I always give myself so much to do at this time of year! Anyway, today I've got a Christmas plaid manicure with a touch of glitter; On my accent nails, I used two coats of Rimmel 'Ruby Crush' for some Christmas sparkle. On my thumb and ring nails, I used Essie 'Style Hunter' and China Glaze 'Exotic Encounters' on my middle nail. To begin my plaid pattern, I used the nail polish brush itself to paint on the first thicker stripes. For this, I used the following nail polishes; thumb:- China Glaze 'Watermelon Rind' (shimmery dark green), middle:- Barry M 'Spring Green' (grass green) and on the ring nail:- Zoya 'Blaze' (shimmery cranberry). Next, I used my thinnest striping brush to paint on the thinner stripes. I first painted on the ones that sit in the centre of the thicker ones using the following nail polishes; thumb:- Barry M...

Christmas Inspiration: Cosy And Traditional

Hello Hello! Well, I think it is safe to say that Winter has arrived; it's absolutely freezing!! But it also means that the Christmas themed nail art can finally commence, hooray!! I like to have a theme to my decorations (this year it's gold/bronze, lime green and red!) so I've gone a bit theme crazy for my manicures!! Woops! First up today's inspiration is centered around the classic Christmas colours; red and green with touches of brown wood, silver and gold accents. I'm thinking of a cosy log cabin in a fragrant evergreen wood, enjoying spiced hot chocolate with family and friends by a roaring fire.... Aw, these images are making me feel so excited for Christmas!! I've thrown myself full tilt into all things Christmassy including a wreath making workshop and a Victorian Christmas Fair! So fun :) Thanks for reading!! Kayleigh :)

Untamed Luxury

A Good Evening To You All!! Today's manicure is way over the top and very blingy!! Definitely not for your average daily routine but perfect for the Christmas party season! I started off with two coats of the stunning China Glaze 'Red-y & Willing' which is just such a rich, deep burgundy shade with a metallic sheen. Fantabulous. Once that was dry, I painted on a coat of Orly 'Can't Be Tamed' on all my nails. This nail polish is made up of royal purple medium sized hex glitters and pewter small sized hex glitters. I really like the fact that it's not your usual silver glitter; a bit more unique! I then dabbed on a dense coat of Butter London 'Lovely Jubbly' at the base of each nail (near the cuticle). This is a really opaque micro-glitter made up of mostly fuchsia pink, electric blue and a smattering of silver glitters. Finally time for that bling!! I applied the silver studs and purple, hot pink and lilac rhinestones ...

Molten Gold

Hello Everyone!! Today, I've got another interpretation of Erin Cooper's abstract artwork!! This time I chose the gorgeous purple and gold 'Rosselini' , isn't it mesmerizing?!! I had to alter the colour scheme a touch as I didn't have all of the colours in nail polish (obviously need more....ha ha!). I started this manicure by painting my nails in Revlon Parfumerie 'Beachy' (non-accent nails) which is a beautiful gold nail polish. I usually steer clear of scented nail polish as they tend to be sweet and sickly. The Parfumerie range is just amazing though; 'Beachy' smells of tropical flowers and a faint hint of salty sea air! On my accent nails, I used a few coats of Rimmel 'Purple Pulse' , followed by two coats of Max Factor 'Fantasy Fire' . This is truly a magical nail polish containing shimmer which flashes from bronze, gold, yellow-green through to an amazingly intense jade green at certain angles. Over ...

Rose Cascade

Hey There! Today, I have a manicure that I'm pretty proud of! I love painting floral nail art but I've never created roses on my nails before. I kinda made a big deal about them in my head and became a bit intimidated by them (weird, I know!). It was getting very silly so I pulled myself together (ha!) and  decided to just go ahead and do a rose inspired manicure..... To get started I used this lovely painting on Pinterest for my inspiration but changed the colour scheme to better suit what I had in mind. I really like the loose and almost abstract form of the roses; just beautiful. I used Champneys 'Mulberry' , a very dark purple (almost black), on my non-accent nails and W7 'Silver Suede' on my pointer and pinkie nails. To paint in my roses I used a small detail brush and the following nail polishes; China Glaze 'Fancy Pants' (blue-purple). Champneys 'Ruby' (metallic red), China Glaze 'Gothic Lolita' (purple), Essie ...

Inspiration: Moody Decadence

Hello Everyone!! Last week, I had every intention of creating some Halloween and Bonfire Night inspired manicures but alas time got away from me. Boo. At least there's always next year!! Anyway, here's what is inspiring me at the moment; As the weather gets colder and we move into Winter, I find myself drawn to the more luxurious fabrics, deep, rich colours and encrusted metallics. I can't wait to get elaborate and luxe with my nail art:- it's going to be fun!! Thanks for reading!! Kayleigh :)
