A Cacti Party

Hello Everybody!! Firstly, who else is happy to see the first signs of Spring?!! At last! Purple and pale yellow crocuses are budding and the garden is covered in swathes of snowdrops :) For today's manicure I've been inspired by a rather cute print I found on Pinterest by DahlHouseInteriors on Etsy. I like the youthful and fresh feeling it has; perfect for a Spring manicure! I chose colours that were more in keeping with my succulent inspiration (see my last post), but they were pretty close already! I started the manicure with Barry M 'Countess' (accent nails) which is an absolutely stunning deep purple textured nail polish. It's so sparkly! On my other nails, I used Rimmel 'Peppermint' followed by a couple of coats of OPI 'Don't Burst My Bubble' in order to lighten and mute the bright aqua. Using the polish brushes, I dabbed on random splotches of colour, using the following nail polishes; Barry M 'Elderberry'

Inspiration: Serene Succulents

Hello Hello!! As much as I enjoyed pushing myself by using such a limited colour palette , I definitely missed my colours!! Inspiring me at the moment are those soft and muted colours that go so well together; mauve, soft blue grey, pale mint green and grey toned green with hints of spring green and buttery yellow. As you can see, I'm also being drawn to cacti and succulents for some reason!! I just love the juxtaposition between soft and sharp both in their colour palette and structure. :) Thanks for reading!! Stellar Snowflake

Evening Everyone! The manicure I'm about to show you was such a palaver! It was mostly my fault as I'd been way too ambitious with my intended nail art which ended up in an almighty mess on my nails! I had to start over and simplify the design :( Despite this, it came out looking ok! On my accent nails (index and pinkie), I started with a few coats of Orly 'Peaceful Opposition' (translucent white with silver glitter) followed by a couple of coats of  OPI 'Don't Burst My Bubble' (sheer pink toned white) to soften and smooth out the glitter. I then dabbed on random areas of Essie 'Stroke Of Brilliance' (cool toned blue hex glitter). On the rest of my nails, I used OPI 'Yoga-Ta Get This Blue!' which is an absolutely stunning deep blue nail polish. In different angles of light you can see various tones of blue including bright aqua and bluish purples. Lovely! I wanted a bit of a visually textured background for my snowflakes

Into The Woods

Hey There! Tonight's manicure is a slightly abstract version of a snowy woodland scene in the depths of Winter. I wasn't too enamored with it when I'd finished; there was something off with it. One coat of a matte topcoat changed it completely! The wonders of matte topcoat!! I started with a few coats of OPI 'I Have A Herring Problem' which is a lovely blue toned grey speckled with silvery flecks. However my photos are showing it slightly bluer than it really is :) On the bottom half (near cuticle) of each nail, I dabbed on Maybelline 'Top Splatter' , a glitter topper made up of silky white hex glitter in various sizes. I absolutely love this, it's a bit different to the usual white glitter toppers due to that lovely silken sheen. To the top of each nail, I painted on a winter woodland scene. I used a very thin detail brush and Zoya 'Yuna' (dark grey with tiny gold flecks) to paint on graphic evergreen trees here and there. I a

Bleak Contrast

Hello!! Today, I've got a rather simple but striking manicure with a black, grey and white colour palette. I needed something relatively easy but visually appealing; stripes are always a good choice!! They're pretty simple to do but look great :) I started with a base of Revlon 'Iconic' on all my nails. It's a very dark green leaning grey nail polish. Over this I painted on a coat of L'Oreal 'Confettis' which is made up of small black and white hex glitters. Using my thinnest striping brush, I painted on vertical stripes in China Glaze 'Dandy Lyin' Around' (shimmery white), China Glaze 'Pelican Grey' (pale grey) and OPI 'I Don't Give A Rotterdam!' (soft grey with golden shimmer). Then I added in some more accent stripes in Essie 'Blanc' (white creme) and China Glaze 'Stone Cold' (matte black with silver glitter), making sure to leave some of the background showing through.
