Baby, It's Cold Outside

Hey There! I'm back today to show you my final Winter inspired nail art! As it's been a tad chilly around here recently I thought I would paint some cozy, warm Winter accessories (scarf, mittens and bobble hat) on my nails :) Unfortunately it hasn't actually snowed in my neck of the woods so I shall have to live vicariously through my nails... I began by painting all my nails with Revlon Parfumerie 'Wintermint' which is a frosted aqua nail polish featuring small turquoise hex glitter, gold micro glitter and fine green shimmer. I think it's really unique and very fitting for this time of year! Unfortunately due to it's frosted and shimmery finish, it's also really difficult to accurately photograph; it's a much brighter greenish aqua in person. To start the nail art, I used a medium sized brush and Essie 'Blanc' to block out the basic shapes on each nail and to form a solid background for some of the paler colours. Once th...

Counting Stars

A Good Afternoon Everyone!! Yesterday, I decided to sit down and do some much needed nail art! It's been way too long! I wanted to try something new and fun but wasn't in the mood to do anything too complicated (ha!). I also just bought a bunch of mini craft punches so I decided to have a go at creating nail polish shapes with those! I've seen quite a few nail art bloggers using this technique lately but haven't actually tried it out myself yet :) I started by painting all my nails with Essie 'Apres-chic' , a lovely bright silver metallic. I'm usually on the fence when it comes to silver nail polish but I really like this one. It has a muted soft finish and light feel to it which I adore :) While I waited for that to dry, I started on the stars. I painted small but thick patches of nail polish onto a small plastic bag using Revlon 'Lana'i Lagoon' (bright blue glitter texture) and Butter London 'Airy Fairy' (aqua-blue-purp...

Razzle Dazzle

Good Evening People!! Today, I'm showing you my Christmas manicure for this year! I may have gone a tad crazy with the glitter and rhinestones... Oops! At least it's appropriately festive and sparkly :) And to be honest, if you can't get away with glitter overboard at this time of year, when can you?! Glitter Mania!! Ha Ha! I started the manicure by painting all my nails with Essie 'Lots Of Lux' which is the most beautiful royal blue textured glitter polish. It's so sparkly and the colour is crazy intense! Love it. I then created a glittery crescent at each cuticle (like a ruffian manicure) using a small detail brush and China Glaze 'Glistening Snow' (silver holo micro-glitter). Once that was completely dry, I layered over  Essie 'Beyond Cozy' (fine silver shimmer) and Orly 'Holy Holo!' (silver holo hex glitter). I also painted on some thin 'ribbons' hanging down the nails with a tiny detail brush and Essie ...

Christmas Inspiration: Winter Blues

Hello! This year, I'm being inspired by all the icy, frosty hues for my Christmas & New Year nail art! Plenty of silver, sparkling white and pastel blues with accents of rich cobalt blue, spearmint and soft blue-greys. I can't wait to start designing my manicures :) Oh, I love these colours! It's unseasonably warm here so this may be the only way to get my fill of ice and snow... Thanks For Reading! Kayleigh :)

By Firelight

Evening Everyone! Today, I have my final Autumn inspired manicure to show you :) I realise it's rather belated as Winter has fully entrenched itself but I wanted post it anyway! I'm not sure if you can actually tell what this is meant to be... ha ha! I felt like doing something a bit challenging so I decided to paint an image of a campfire on my two accent nails. It was a lot trickier than I'd anticipated so I'm actually quite pleased with how it turned out :) I started by painting all my nails with Essie 'Haute T ub'  which is a black based nail polish filled with rose pink glass flecks. I was not expecting to love this polish as much as I do as I usually steer away from black. In fact I loved it so much that I wore it on it's own for a few days first (hence the big cuticle gap!). Over my non-accent nails, I painted Lacquerhead Polish 'Witches Be Crazy' (orange metallic and holo hex glitter with a spattering of purple, cyan, emerald...

Changing Colours

Good Afternoon People! As it was Halloween this week, I chose to do a darker colour palette than I would normally! I'm glad I did as I absolutely loved wearing this manicure :) I started this Oak tree inspired manicure by painting all my nails with Revlon Parfumerie 'Autumn Spice' , a deep brown based nail polish filled with gold to rose pink colour changing glass flecks. Not only is it a gorgeous colour but it also smells amazing!! Then, using a striper brush and Revlon 'Iconic' (charcoal grey), I painted on some angular, simplified branches. Next, I used OPI 'My Vampire Is Buff' (pale, cream nude) and a detail brush to paint on the basic shapes of the leaves and acorns. I knew the final colours wouldn't show up over the dark brown so I needed to put down a lighter base colour first! For the leaves, I used Revlon Parfumerie 'Beachy' (pale gold) and Essie 'Snap Happy' (bright red). I also used Butter London 'Brick...

Sweater Season

Good Afternoon Everyone! Today, I have my first Autumn inspired manicure to show you! I decided to go full out with Autumnal colours and patterns for some bold but warming nail art :) Take a look; Some of my favourite cold-weather clothing items are my soft, plaid flannel shirts. So of course I just had to do some plaid nail art! In order to break up the pattern a bit, I added in a couple of striped accent nails but using the same overall colour palette for unity. I began by painting most of my nails with Butter London 'Brick Lane' which is the perfect Autumn nail polish. It's a burnt orange creme with subtly gold shimmer. On my accent nails (middle and pinkie), I used Barry M 'Lychee' , a light, creamy nude. Then I painted on the base stripes/lines using a striping brush and the following nail polishes; Barry M 'Mango' (bright orange creme), Butter London 'East End' (matte mustard yellow) and Barry M 'Chai' (dove grey crem...
