Gemstone Polish

Evening People!! Tonight's post is going to be a quick one as I'm going on holiday on Monday and I have a massive to-do list! I'm road tripping across America from Las Vegas to San Francisco :) A lot of the journey will be spent in National Park campgrounds so nail art and blogging are going to be minimal for a while! Anyway, on to some rather colourful nail art; I started this manicure by painting all of my nails in China Glaze 'Kiss My Glass' . This is such an interesting colour; a dark steel grey with a slightly frosted finish that leans blue or green depending on the light. I can't work it out! Using a combination of brushes (a striper and a detail brush) and Essie 'Blanc' (opaque white), I painted on some loose, tribalesque patterns which included dots, swirls and dashes. Hello!! Today's manicure involves a gorgeous deep navy and flashes of bright, neon colour. It's a different way of wearing neons, more sophisticated perhaps?! The darkness of the navy, alongside hints of grey, help to tone down the overall brightness while allowing the splashes of neon to still shine through. I used the above piece of art as my inspiration for this manicure. I like the combination of the graphic transparent neons with accents of cement grey and shimmery deep almost black indigo. It's a pretty cool bit of artwork! Unfortunately, I couldn't get that same transparency and complexity with nail polish so my final nail art is quite different from the original art. I rather like the outcome anyway though :) I started this manicure by painting all of my nails in Essie 'Midnight Cami' , a gorgeously dark, intense navy with subtle indigo/purple shimmer. A Good Evening To You All! Although it's the end of Summer, I'm still feeling the need to wear some colourful and bright neon nail polishes! However, after a bit of musing and planning, I think I've come up with a more seasonal appropriate way of wearing them; flashes of searing neon amid deep indigo blues and the darkest greys. Hello There!! It appears that Summer has officially left the building. Or at least the UK. On the whole August has been wet and chilly so I took the opportunity to fly to warmer shores. Hot sunny weather, watermelon and plenty of pool time; it was good :) Anyway, today I have the last installment of my nail art interpretation of Ashley Goldberg's abstract art. I decided to bring a few prints into one, busy and colourful manicure!! Above are the three prints that I decided to use as inspiration. I changed up some of the colours in order to unify the whole manicure a bit! I started the manicure by painting my accent nails with Barry M 'Coconut' , an off-white almost cream coloured nail polish. I then painted the rest of my nails in China Glaze 'Strike A Rose', a pink toned coral with slight silver shimmer. Good Afternoon!! Today I've got a bit of a crazy manicure to show you! It's another interpretation of Ashley Goldberg's fantastic artwork but I'm not entirely sure that the two patterns that I've chosen actually go together. I'll let you decide :) Above, are the two prints that I decided to use as inspiration. I really like the colour pairing of the hot pink and yellow mustard, which was a surprise to me as I usually avoid this kind of yellow like the plague! I first painted most of my nails in Revlon Parfumerie 'African Tea Rose' , a bright hot pink with very subtle blue/pink shimmer. As this nail polish is part of the Parfumerie range, it's scented; a lovely tropical floral perfume. It's a nice surprise every time my hand is near my face but not at all overpowering. Good Evening!! This week, I've used some really bright nail polishes, absolutely perfect for Summer! It did feel a bit weird as I've been using mainly soft and muted colours in my past manicures. Nice to change things up though :) Today's manicure was inspired by two abstract prints by Ashley Goldberg. I liked her use of contrasting colours (orange and blue) in these patterns as they really bring out the brightness and intensity of the shapes. I tried to keep my colours as close as possible to the originals but I was missing a couple of shades so I just made do with the nail polishes that I have. Good excuse to buy a couple of new polishes! I started this manicure by painting most of my nails (thumb, middle and ring) in Barry M 'Damson' . This is just the most beautiful blue, intense and dusty all at the same time!
